| History | Until 1970, Oman used plain red banners of the indigenous people. In 1970, a completely new set of national flags were introduced by the Sultan. Added to the fly were bands of green and white. The emblem, the badge of the Albusaidi swords over a gambia, which is a traditional curved dagger. | ||
